Since 1968, Riverview has helped form many young men. Its programs foster the balanced development of high school, cégep and university students, and young professional men. They can thus become more competent, generous and responsible contributors to the common good.
Personal and professional excellence and good study habits are encouraged, in order to serve: those most in need, the family, and all, while loving freedom and shouldering responsibility.
Young men, from all social, ethnic and religious backgrounds, become residents of Riverview by joining our Scholars Program. It is a program for all residents of Riverview that seeks to help students maximize their university experience. It is a full-year program that supplements the formal studies of undergraduate men who want to grow academically, professionally and personally.
There is a direct correlation between my frequenting of Riverview Study Centre and the professional successes achieved during and shortly afterwards. Riverview promoted cutting-edge research on productivity and focus, and led me to cultivate an undistracted mind capable of regularly pushing itself to the limit. Fortunately Riverview's emphasis on intellectual rigor was never artificially situated outside the broader context of life; on the contrary, it was emphasized that work cannot effectively be at its best while seen as wholly discrete from the larger picture of life.
We all had the opportunity at some point in our lives to appreciate human warmth, the joy of feeling surrounded by friendly people and sharing unforgettable moments. These few words would amply summarize my experience of Riverview. As a resident, I have been able to appreciate the benefits of the Scholars Program in a special way. There are plenty of opportunities to learn new and beautiful things during get-togethers, conferences, social events or through volunteering opportunities and even sports. There is something for everyone!
Hi there! I had the opportunity to get to know Riverview Study Centre while I was doing my studies in Economics at McGill University. Participating at the activities organized by the centre has given me the opportunity to grow in different aspects. I have been able to develop long-lasting friendships through sports; shape my character by participating in volunteering activities and conferences; and I have been able to receive a well-founded human formation that has brought me closer to my friends, my family and God.
The Riverview community served as a powerful bulwark during my student years against immense stresses from external circumstances. I received invaluable help and support from this community and remember it with much gratitude.
At Riverview, I had the opportunity to grow exponentially, make lifelong friends and learn from different cultures and perspectives. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose Riverview as my home in Montreal.
During my time at Riverview, I discovered the significance of leading a well-balanced life, a valuable lesson that allowed me to achieve my best performance and productivity.
The parents and educators who make Riverview a reality are inspired by the message of St. Josemaria Escriva. He founded Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church to which the activities of spiritual formation organized by Riverview are entrusted.
